Day 5 of London Fashion Week

ktz.jpg

After a gruelling week of hard work and sweat and tears, we have finally finished. The last day is done and the venue is now just a hollow shell that once housed beautiful clothing and beautiful people. It's sad but just shows that fashion is so quick. One day it's there, then the next day it's gone. Until next year when we can sweat and cry and work our asses off all over again.

Day 4 of London Fashion Week

We only had one show today and that was Avsh Alom Gur. In a few words....I hated it. I hate kaftans and this was full of them, in hideous prints too. Kaftans for me are just dull, dull, dull. The collection could quite possibly have been better had it been on the runway but as designers are struggling with finances this wasn't a possibility. I did, however like that the majority of the pieces were see through. This trend seems to be popping up everywhere in the UK. Probably has something to do with little miss Lady Ga Ga. Having your panties and bra on show is just plain hot.

Day 3 of London Fashion Week

We started today late as you could probably understand. Got some great street style snaps today. I have seen the girl with the white hair a couple of times this week and she has always looked fierce. The first show of the day was Julian J Smith. I must say, so far, with the exception of Pam Hogg, this has been my favourite show. The show had the same vibe as Emilio De La Mareno’s show from last season which was also my favourite. The little headpieces were great and I think I judge a good show by its continuity and this show totally flowed.

Day 2 of London Fashion Week

The day starts with a buzz around it because we know we have Pam showing with us tonight and we have our big On|Off Party Feet party where Soul2Soul are playing. Remember the song back to life, back to reality, well it’s them and their back. Apparently it has been the biggest rigmarole to get them as they haven’t performed together for like 20 years! The lead singer had to fly in from New York just for the party.

Day 1 of London Fashion Week

The excitement of fashion week for me always starts when I get off the tube and see the most fashionable people in London littering the streets. Being alongside them, and knowing you share the same love for British fashion and that you’re all in it together for this week of little sleep, beautiful people, parties and very talented artists and designers is indescribable. To say the least it’s bloody exciting on the first day!

Alex Perry – No Disappointment!!!

Alex Perry

Friday 2nd October, 2009

Ooohs and aahs filled the room of M1 on the Sunshine Coast last night as Alex Perry exclusively showcased his ready-to-wear Autumn-Winter collection for next season. And let me tell you, it lived up to every expectation. Fabulous!

Structured. Soft taffeta. Silk. Bows. And as the man himself described, statement shoulders, making “your ass look smaller”.
“It’s all about shape and colour,” he said.
“I always relate to things that have a Grecian edge.”

The 150+ fashionistas fortunate to score a ticket were not disappointed.

The Beginning of the Madness

So after a few days of jetlag and a ridiculous amount of coffee I was back to work. As soon as I arrived I was taken to our new venue by my boss. London Fashion Week has always in the past been at the Natural History Museum in Kensington but this year we have moved to Somerset House and we're located in an old abandoned office block. When I first got there I was a little scared to say the least to see how we would turn it around and make it look fierce cause it literally is a building that totally should've been torn down a long time ago!

Mercedes-Benz Brisbane Fashion Festival - Wednesday 26 August

Graduate of the Year Awards

Ah, the fashion runway show…cameras flashing, music pumping and the strut of a waif-like lass down the catwalk as Australia’s best budding designers showcased their collections at one of the festivals most coveted events, the Fashion Graduate of the Year Awards.

Fashion After Hours; a night of sparkling wine, dark chocolate and informative conversation

Under the impression the Fashion After Hours panel discussion would be held in a large hall with the capability of holding hordes of people, I was pleasantly surprised at what the night had to offer; a room of only 70 people (if not less), dim lighting and pleasant conversation.

Thrills, frills and spills

Brisbane City Hall rolled out its red carpet for day three of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival where things heated up both on and off the runway. The Brisbane glitterati braved the heat, flocking to group show seven which featured internationally recognised design talent Lisa Ho, Nicola Finetti and Kirrily Johnston as well as up and coming Brisbane boutique Pink Mint.
