Q: What are you going to do after you graduate?
A: After I graduate I’m interested in pursuing an internship in 2010, possibly in London where a number of previous QUT fashion graduates are now living.
Q: What’s your collection about?
A: ‘Heroine Junkie’ (collection S/S 2010) comes from a shameless obsession with style icon Chloe Sevigny, and the evolution of a narrative Chloe as the principle character. My collection mashes swimwear and sweet fabrics with the tomboyish garments from sportswear. The result is a relaxed, almost grungy silhouette softened by baby blues and muted pinks.
Q: Any advice for future designers?
A: My advice to other student designers is to be both mentally and emotionally prepared for final year, as it really is a journey that you must be ready for.
