Q: What are you going to do after you graduate?
A: I haven’t quite thought about that yet. I’ve got a job in retail set up for after so that I’ve got time to think about what I’m going to do. I’m pretty sure I might have a label further on… either that or I’ll go into buying.
Q: What’s your collection about?
A: My collection is actually inspired by aviation and the air force… so there’s a lot of military lines and juxtaposition with the element of air as well, so I’ve got like soft, sheer things like that.
Q: Any advice for future designers?
A: I say just do it. Go with Nike (laughs). Just do it. Do it how you want it to be… you can make it as wild as you like but… actually, go wild with this one… well, maybe if expense is an issue then not so wild, but go pretty wild. Like, it’s going to be the first thing you do in terms of… to get your label out… if you want to be known as that, and if you want to be known as sophisticated, do sophisticated. Make a collection that reflects you; yeah, mine’s kind of … it’s sexy… like, there’s sheer blouses; boobs hanging out… (laughs) then there’s like more tamed ones like.. I’ve got a jumpsuit, but it’s more fitted… it’s more what I want to do. I kind of feel like I’ve got a rock kind of edge but I’ve picked my song today… which is good.
