Australia’s designer talents have taken a bite out of the Big Apple. From New York to Paris, the fruits of our sunburnt nation are proving to be deliciously marketable.

This year, Fashion week spectators in New York caught a glimpse of Australia’s designer talent as well. Alice McCall (who normally shows in London), showed her threads in New York – which coincides with the launch of her collection for the up-and-coming U.S Topshop this September. A select few guest’s from the Big Apple had the pleasure of witnessing Willow’s latest collection at an exclusive invite-only event. A week later, Akira celebrated a decade of designing in Paris along side new comer Josh Goot, who delivered a kaleidoscopic collection that epitomised the ‘body-con dressing’ ideal. Meanwhile ex-pat Richard Nicoll re-energized monochromatic aesthetics with clean, sporty attire inspired by early Helmut Lang creations. And this is just a taste of what’s to come.
